I am by no means, an expert with AutoCad, but this is a seemingly simple question that is frustrating me to no end. I have a project where I chose to display my surface in the 0.5 and 2.5 Contour style, because the area isn’t that large and doesn’t have much slope. But when I added labels to this surface, they only display as whole numbers. So as in the picture below, the 97.5 contour line is labeled as 98 and there are several lines labeled as 98. Is there anyway to change the precision of these labels and add the decimals or have it just label the contours which are a whole number? (I cant even just label the major contours because they are every 2.5′ and include elevations like 97.5) Or should I just change the surface style to 1 and 5?
Please let me know any suggestions or if my question is unclear. Thanks!
Nancy,
Below are instructions on how to change the precision of the labels:
In PROSPECTOR>SETTINGS>SURFACE>LABEL STYLES>Contour>Contour Elev Right Click>EDIT
Go to the Layout Tab
You will now be in the Label Style Composer
Under Text>Contents Select the button that has the 3 dots
Text Component Editor shows up as above>goto Properties tab…Select the text in the right side of the window and delete it.
Above is what should now be showing…Under Surface Elevation>Modifier>Precision…Change this to 0.1 (there will be a drop down list)
Once you completed that…Click the Arrow button This adds the contents to the right side.
It should now look like the above image. Click OK
Then Click OK to exit out of the Label Style Composer
*Please note that you will have to do this for all three types of Contour Label Styles*
In the new templates that will be rolled out soon, this will already be done so you won’t have to worry about doing this!

Thank you! That is exactly what I wanted to do, just didnt know how.
