HPT520 24 in. Plotting Problems
If you’re having issues printing to the HPT520 24 in. plotter from Civil 3D, check out the solution below.
CAD drawings must be first plotted to a pdf. Some signed and approved pdfs may need to be reprinted as another pdf for this method to work.
Try this solution:
Go to the Control Panel –> Hardware and Sound –> Devices and Printers
Right click on the plotter and select Printing Preferences
Go to the Advanced tab and under Document Options –> Printer Features –> Send job as bitmap select Enabled
Click Ok to close the window
Open the pdf of the AutoCAD drawing and rotate it to vertical view (may not be necessary if plotter auto rotates but not tested yet).
Do this by navigating to View –> Rotate View –> Clockwise
Navigate to the File tab –> Print
Select your plotter and click on Properties
Navigate to the Paper Quality tab –> Paper Options –> Current size and click the drop down menu. Select D from the list of options
Go to the Advanced tab –> BMP and select Enabled
Click Ok
Select what sheets you want to be printed and click Ok. This will start the plotting process.
The conversion to BMP will take some time depending on how many sheets you are plotting.
